Personal Injury & Medical Malpractice Attorney – Westbury NY
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice Attorney to join its growing legal team. Based in the firm’s Long Island (Westbury) office, this role offers the opportunity to manage complex plaintiff-side matters from intake through trial while providing compassionate and results-driven representation to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of personal injury and medical malpractice litigation from initial consultation through resolution or trial
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands and responses, and other legal documents
- Take and defend depositions, including expert witness depositions
- Appear in court for conferences, hearings, oral arguments, and trials
- Evaluate case merits and develop effective litigation strategies
- Negotiate settlements and advocate zealously on behalf of clients
- Collaborate with and supervise paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff
- Maintain consistent client communication and provide regular case updates
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New York State Bar (additional bar admissions a plus)
- 5+ years of experience litigating plaintiff-side personal injury and/or medical malpractice cases
- Trial experience strongly preferred
- Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Strong negotiation and courtroom advocacy abilities
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate, client-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $125,000 – $160,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Additional compensation for any cases originated and settled by the attorney (unlimited and uncapped).
