    Personal Injury & Medical Malpractice Attorney – Westbury NY

    Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice Attorney to join its growing legal team. Based in the firm’s Long Island (Westbury) office, this role offers the opportunity to manage complex plaintiff-side matters from intake through trial while providing compassionate and results-driven representation to clients.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage all phases of personal injury and medical malpractice litigation from initial consultation through resolution or trial
    • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands and responses, and other legal documents
    • Take and defend depositions, including expert witness depositions
    • Appear in court for conferences, hearings, oral arguments, and trials
    • Evaluate case merits and develop effective litigation strategies
    • Negotiate settlements and advocate zealously on behalf of clients
    • Collaborate with and supervise paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff
    • Maintain consistent client communication and provide regular case updates

    Qualifications

    • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
    • Admission to the New York State Bar (additional bar admissions a plus)
    • 5+ years of experience litigating plaintiff-side personal injury and/or medical malpractice cases
    • Trial experience strongly preferred
    • Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills
    • Strong negotiation and courtroom advocacy abilities
    • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
    • Compassionate, client-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Base salary range: $125,000 – $160,000 (commensurate with experience)
    • Additional compensation for any cases originated and settled by the attorney (unlimited and uncapped).

  • Senior Paralegal

    Senior Paralegal Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Personal Injury Paralegal to join its legal team in Westbury, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plaintiff-side personal injury litigation and will support attorneys throughout all phases of a case—from client intake through settlement or trial. This role requires exceptional organization, professionalism, and strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, medical providers, and opposing counsel.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Draft, review, and file legal documents including complaints, discovery responses, subpoenas, motions, and settlement agreements
    • Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and up to date
    • Coordinate and schedule depositions, independent medical examinations (IMEs), and court appearances
    • Request, review, and summarize medical records, bills, and related documentation
    • Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates and gather necessary information
    • Track deadlines and ensure timely filings and responses
    • Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, and materials for hearings and trials
    • Assist with negotiating and finalizing lien resolutions and settlements

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience as a paralegal in a plaintiff-side personal injury law firm
    • Strong understanding of personal injury litigation, court procedures, and legal terminology
    • Proficiency in legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Exceptional organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a legal team
    • Paralegal certificate or Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree preferred
