    Position Overview:
    Our client is seeking an experienced Coverage Attorney with a strong background in insurance coverage analysis and policy interpretation. The ideal candidate will be adept at evaluating coverage issues, drafting coverage opinions, and handling litigation involving complex insurance disputes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct detailed coverage analysis across multiple policy types, including:

      • First Party Property and/or Homeowners Policies

      • Commercial General Liability (CGL) Policies

      • Directors & Officers (D&O) Policies

      • Environmental and Pollution Policies

      • Construction Defect and Builders Risk Policies

    • Litigate coverage disputes involving:

      • Application of policy exclusions

      • “Other insurance” and priority of coverage issues

      • The scope and breadth of additional insured provisions

    • Draft coverage opinions, position letters, and pleadings.

    • Provide strategic counsel to insurers on risk management, claims handling, and coverage disputes.

    • Represent clients in state and federal court proceedings.

    Preferred but Not Required:

    • Experience with commercial litigation

    • Labor Law defense background

    • Construction defect or construction damage litigation experience

    Qualifications:

    • J.D. from an accredited law school

    • Admission to the New York State Bar (additional state admissions a plus)

    • 5+ years of experience in insurance coverage analysis or related litigation

    • Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills

    • Strong communication skills and a commitment to client service

    Main Responsibilities

    • Provide comprehensive legal counsel in elder law, estate planning, and estate admin
    • Advise clients on asset protection strategies and long-term planning
    • Draft, review, and manage estate planning documents including:

    o Wills

    o Trusts

    o Powers of Attorney

    o Health Care Proxies and Advance Directives

    • Represent clients in probate and estate administration proceedings
    • Guide clients through Medicaid eligibility planning and application processes
    • Interpret and apply relevant New York State laws, rulings, and regulations
    • Manage individual caseloads while collaborating closely with attorneys/support staff
    • Stay current on changes in elder law, estate planning, and Medicaid regulations
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and ongoing support

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
    • Active and good-standing member of the New York State Bar
    • Minimum of 4+ years of experience practicing elder law and trust & estate planning
    • Strong knowledge of New York Medicaid rules and eligibility requirements
    • Demonstrated experience in estate administration and probate matters
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills
    • Ability to analyze and interpret complex legal and regulatory issues
