  • Application Architect

When you apply for this job through ComputerPeople Staffing, you’ll get insider intel on the role, the team, and the culture, plus hands-on support with your resume, interview prep, and offer negotiation. All at no cost to you. Let’s get you hired!

*Hybrid role – typically 3 days in the Buffalo, NY area office

    About the Application Architect opportunity

This is a newly created, first-of-its-kind role at a multi-state company — a critical hire as the organization executes one of the most significant enterprise transformations in its history. Reporting directly to the VP of IT, you will own the application and integration architecture domain as they migrate to a consolidated Oracle Cloud Fusion platform (HCM, Finance, and CIS), replacing legacy ERP environments.

As the sole Application Architect,  you’ll define the integration layer — an API-driven architecture connecting Oracle Cloud and surrounding systems — guide build/buy/configure decisions as new Oracle modules come online, and sit on the Architecture Review Board. This is a hands-on technical leadership role with direct influence over architecture standards, SDLC governance, and AI development guardrails.

    Why this role

This is a rare opportunity to shape enterprise architecture from the ground up — not inherit someone else’s blueprint. The work is complex, consequential, and high-visibility, with direct access to IT leadership and a clear mandate to build something lasting

    What you’ll do

    • Lead integration architecture across the Oracle Cloud migration — designing API- integration and standards that connect Oracle and surrounding enterprise applications
    • Define current- and target-state architectures across ERP, HCM, CIS, and finance domains, utilizing Oracle tooling (OIC) and out-of-the-box configurations
    • Guide application rationalization — retain, retire, replace, or modernize decisions as Oracle modules displace legacy platforms
    • Partner with IT leadership, an engaged implementation partner, and business stakeholders to ensure architectural alignment throughout a phased, multi-year transformation
    • Contribute to SDLC standards, AI development guardrails, and architectural principles documentation as part of the Architecture Review Board

    What we’re looking for

    Required

    • Hands-on software development background — must have built enterprise level applications; ideally using .NET, Python, low-code/no-code, and SDLC
    • 5+ years in application architecture, solutions architecture, or senior technical lead roles involving cross-functional enterprise implementations
    • Experience designing API-driven integration layers between enterprise applications at meaningful scale
    • Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise architecture and integration design patterns — circuit breakers, retry logic, event-driven architecture, message queuing, API gateway patterns, etc. — and the ability to apply and communicate them to development teams
    • ERP experience — SAP, Oracle, or comparable enterprise platform; must understand how ERP modules interact with surrounding systems and data flows
    • Strong communicator with the ability to deliver clear, concise architectural explanations to both technical teams and executive stakeholders
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field

    Benefits include:

    • Annual Bonus Program
    • Low cost medical, dental premiums
    • Very generous Paid Time Off
    • 401K match plus additional Company Funded Retirement Savings Account (even if you don’t contribute to 401K)
    • Leadership training program
    • Management that is dedicated to your career success and flexible when life happens
    • Positive/collaborative work culture

  • Data Engineer

When you apply for this job through ComputerPeople Staffing, you’ll get insider intel on the role, the team, and the culture, plus hands-on support with your resume, interview prep, and offer negotiation. All at no cost to you. Let’s get you hired!

SENIOR DATA ENGINEER | Direct Hire | Buffalo, NY (Hybrid)

*Typically 3 days in the office

    ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is building their enterprise data engineering capability from the ground up — and this is the role that starts it. As the company executes a full transformation to Oracle Cloud Fusion, this Senior Data Engineer will be the founding architect of a centralized data platform designed to unify data across financial, operational, customer, HR, asset, and supply chain domains.

This is not a maintenance role. It requires someone who can design and build a modern, cloud-integrated data ecosystem with significant autonomy — and who has the vision and leadership to grow a data engineering team around them. The right candidate is a hands-on builder who is equally comfortable making architectural decisions and writing the pipeline code to execute them.

Our client will consider strong data engineering generalists willing to develop hands-on expertise in Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (OFDI).

    What You’ll Do

    Data Platform & Pipeline Engineering

    • Serve as the primary technical owner of Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (OFDI) — standing up, configuring, and evolving the platform as the enterprise analytics hub
    • Design and build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest data from multiple source systems (SAP, on-prem Oracle, SQL Server, GIS, and others) into a centralized data warehouse
    • Develop and maintain integrations using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) as the enterprise middleware platform
    • Transition the organization away from legacy flat file integrations toward API-based, event-driven data flows
    • Implement data quality checks, reconciliation processes, and monitoring controls to support auditability and regulatory compliance

    Enterprise Reporting & Analytics

    • Curate trusted, analytics-ready datasets for consumption by downstream BI tools including Power BI and Oracle Analytics Cloud
    • Build and maintain semantic data models and data mappings that support self-service reporting and enterprise analytics initiatives
    • Collaborate with application and business teams to define data requirements across operational, financial, regulatory, and customer domains

    Data Governance & Architecture

    • Establish data governance frameworks, data lineage documentation, and data quality standards from the ground up
    • Document data flows, technical designs, and integration specifications to ensure long-term maintainability
    • Partner with enterprise architecture and application teams to align data solutions with enterprise standards
    • Evaluate and recommend supplemental data tools — including platforms such as Microsoft Fabric — as platform needs evolve, with significant input into tooling decisions

    Team Leadership

    • Operate with a high degree of autonomy in a self-directed capacity — minimal technical oversight exists above this role
    • Identify gaps in the team’s future capability needs and contribute to hiring decisions as the data engineering function grows

    Required Qualifications

    • 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data integration, or analytics engineering roles
    • Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, or similar)
    • Demonstrated experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines and data architecture for enterprise environments — both relational and cloud-based
    • Experience pulling from multiple, disparate source systems (ERP, CRM, CIS, asset management, or similar) into a unified data model
    • Familiarity with cloud-based enterprise platforms and hybrid on-prem/cloud architectures
    • Self-directed with strong instincts for data quality, auditability, and governance
    • Knowledge of enterprise integration and data architecture design patterns
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (official transcripts required)

    Benefits include:

    • Annual Bonus Program
    • Low cost medical, dental premiums
    • Very generous Paid Time Off
    • 401K match plus additional Company Funded Retirement Savings Account (even if you don’t contribute to 401K)
    • Leadership training program
    • Management that is dedicated to your career success and flexible when life happens
    • Positive/collaborative work culture
