    Our Buffalo based client is a small, growing tech company seeking a Remote Software Engineer to join their automation technology team. As a Python Developer, you’ll work on cutting-edge automation platforms in the healthcare industry that improve throughput, accuracy, and patient safety across live production environments.  Work directly with the founder and technical leadership.     About the Role

    We’re looking for a Software Developer (L1-L2) who thrives in a startup environment and wants to make a real impact in healthcare technology. You’ll be supporting and extending our client’s Python-based automation platform that enables seamless communication between pharmacy robots and management systems. This remote software engineering position offers the flexibility of working from home while collaborating with a tight-knit technical team.

    Work Arrangement: Fully remote | Strong preference for Buffalo or Rochester, NY area candidates that can meet up on occasion | Flexible 40-hour work week with required availability 10AM-4PM EST

    What You’ll Do

    • Under the guidance of a Senior Software Engineer, will Implement new features and maintain existing Python codebase for automation systems
    • Support RPC-style automation workflows enabling cross-system communication
    • Debug complex issues involving timing, state management, and partial execution failures with IT Support staff.
    • Develop background tasks, controllers, and execution logic for automated processes
    • Improve logging, error handling, and system reliability for production environments
    • Collaborate with senior technical leadership on architecture and implementation decisions
    • Take ownership of core products and new product launches as company expands
    • Work independently to analyze requirements, propose solutions, and implement improvements

    Required Qualifications

    • 1+ year professional software development experience with demonstrated experience using Python to create an automated process either professionally or through personal project work.
    • Self-starter mentality – able to take basic requirements and run with them
    • Problem-solving mindset with ability to analyze code and identify performance improvements
    • Strong communication skills for remote collaboration
    • Independent thinker who can take ownership and drive projects forward

    Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

    • RPC (Remote Procedure Call) experience – huge plus but not required; willing to train
    • API integration and inter-process communication experience
    • Experience with Jira or similar tracking tools
    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines

    Human Resources Business Partner (Temp – or  Direct Hire)

    This role focuses heavily on employee relations and leave of absence, ensuring employees are supported, issues are addressed promptly, and the organization remains compliant and fair.

    The HR Business Partner drives our mission by working with leaders across the business to ensure they are a great place to work for all of their employees. This role is both hands-on and strategic, providing expertise across employee relations, performance management, employee retention, coaching and development, conflict management, and ad hoc projects as necessary.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Ensure employee relations matters are handled in compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and best practices
    • Proactively address and resolve employee concerns to foster a positive work culture and minimize potential conflicts
    • Address labor relations issues as they emerge
    • Conduct timely, objective, and thorough internal investigations including but not limited to allegations of harassment, discrimination, accommodation, and Code of Ethics/Conduct violations
    • Manage all aspects of agency unemployment claims, including documentation, responses, and hearings
    • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding agency policies, procedures, and human resources practices

    Time, Attendance, and Workforce Support

    • This role focuses heavily on handling time and attendance issues as well as employee relations matters
    • Support the employee onboarding process to ensure a smooth and effective integration into the organization
    • Oversee the agency’s performance appraisal and salary administration systems, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational goals
    • Maintain and regularly update job descriptions and performance standards for all agency positions

    Culture, Engagement, and Safety

    • Promote employee engagement and satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly, implementing new perks and benefits, and coordinating team-building activities
    • Coordinate and assist with planning and execution of employee events, recognition programs, and wellness initiatives
    • Actively participate as a member of the agency’s Safety Committee to promote a safe and healthy work environment

    Policies, Compliance, and Administration

    • Develop, revise, and maintain employment policies and procedures in accordance with legal and organizational requirements
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, including support for benefits administration, employee training, and special projects

    Education & Experience

    EDUCATION: Master’s degree in related field preferred; bachelor’s degree required

    EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the HR field with direct responsibility for employee relations or labor relations

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: PHR preferred but not required
