Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations across a diverse set of entities, including partnerships, LLCs, trusts, and individual accounts. This role works closely with senior team members to ensure accurate financial reporting and smooth operational processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable, including coding, approvals, and vendor maintenance
- Support vendor management and assist with annual 1099 preparation
- Track and report on cash activity and assist with cash flow analysis
- Reconcile credit card transactions and ensure proper expense classification
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close (journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis)
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
- Contribute to process improvements, internal controls, and accounting procedures
- Handle sensitive financial information with a high level of discretion
- Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–3+ years of accounting experience (public accounting, corporate accounting, or similar environment)
- Experience with journal entries and general ledger activity
- Familiarity with bill payment platforms (e.g., Bill.com or similar)
- Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Professional demeanor with the ability to handle confidential information
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to be hands-on and adaptable
- Strong communication skills
