Senior Paralegal Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Personal Injury Paralegal to join its legal team in Westbury, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plaintiff-side personal injury litigation and will support attorneys throughout all phases of a case—from client intake through settlement or trial. This role requires exceptional organization, professionalism, and strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, medical providers, and opposing counsel.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and file legal documents including complaints, discovery responses, subpoenas, motions, and settlement agreements
- Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and up to date
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, independent medical examinations (IMEs), and court appearances
- Request, review, and summarize medical records, bills, and related documentation
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates and gather necessary information
- Track deadlines and ensure timely filings and responses
- Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, and materials for hearings and trials
- Assist with negotiating and finalizing lien resolutions and settlements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a paralegal in a plaintiff-side personal injury law firm
- Strong understanding of personal injury litigation, court procedures, and legal terminology
- Proficiency in legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a legal team
- Paralegal certificate or Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree preferred
