Position Overview

Our client is hiring due to growth. They are looking for experience in food manufacturing or agricultural production. The ideal candidate would also be well-versed in food safety regulations such as FSMA, GFSI, HACCP, and PCQI.  The Food Safety Administrator plays a critical role on the team, leading food safety, organic, and regenerative compliance initiatives while supporting the production of high-quality crops. This position serves as a key liaison between crop operations and leadership, ensuring accurate communication of data, conditions, and compliance status. The role is based out of the Clarence, NY location and requires regular field presence.

Key Responsibilities Food Safety & Compliance

  • Provide oversight and coordination for all food safety audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Develop, administer, and ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory programs including FSMA, GFSI, HACCP, and PCQI.
  • Maintain, update, and enforce food safety manuals, training programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct routine food safety training sessions for staff.
  • Prepare, present, and communicate compliance reports and findings to the management team as requested.
  • Ensure accurate data collection for traceability, recordkeeping, and internal reporting. Crop Production & Certification Support
  • Provide support for Organic and Regenerative certifications and associated audits.
  • Create, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to organic and regenerative vegetable crop production.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation related to compliance and certification.
  • Participate in monthly food safety meetings with management.

Communication & Leadership

  • Communicate effectively with both large and small groups in English and Spanish to ensure understanding and compliance.
  • Maintain consistent two-way communication with leadership and team members to share insights, updates, and best practices.
  • Lead by example, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with crop management to implement company, community,  while ensuring high service and quality standards.

General & Operational Responsibilities

  • Follow all prescribed regulatory and internal procedures and maintain required records.
  • Practice workplace safety and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Support team members and promote a respectful, collaborative work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience (or equivalent education) in agriculture, food safety, or program administration.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Hands-on, field-oriented mindset with a passion for crop production.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues, propose solutions, and follow through independently.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and accountability.
  • Local travel required during the production season.
  • Customer-service oriented with strong collaboration skills.
