ABOUT THE COMPANY
Join a well-established, growing organization in the industrial services sector, with a strong reputation for stability across the Northeast. The company is in the midst of a major systems modernization initiative driven by a significant acquisition, and is investing in a brand-new data and integration function to support that growth. This is a newly created position reporting into the VP of IT & Data Analytics. Comprehensive benefits with generous PTO and annual bonus.
WHY THIS ROLE
As Enterprise Data Solutions Team Lead, you will lead a small, growing team of developers and data engineers responsible for the organization’s data pipelines, integrations, and enterprise applications, almost entirely from the ground up. This is a rare chance to combine hands-on technical credibility with real leadership impact, shaping both the team and the platform as the company modernizes its ERP and data infrastructure.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
* Lead and mentor a team of software and data engineers building the organization’s new data pipelines and integrations from the ground up.
* Serve as the technical decision-maker for pipeline architecture, working hands-on alongside your team in Azure, Azure Data Factory, and Microsoft Fabric.
* Partner with the Vice President of Data Analytics to translate business priorities into clear, executable technical delivery plans.
* Enforce architecture, data, and security standards across the team’s pipeline, integration, and application work.
* Guide the team through an ongoing systems modernization effort, including a future ERP platform evaluation and migration.
* Collaborate with business and analytics stakeholders, including the downstream reporting team, to ensure the data platform serves real business needs.
* Partner with project coordination resources to keep delivery on track and minimize rework.
* Mentor engineers earlier in their careers, helping build a strong, sustainable engineering practice as the team grows.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* 7 to 10+ years of experience in software, data, or enterprise application engineering, including progression from a hands-on developer or programmer role into technical leadership.
* Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing a team of engineers or developers.
* Hands-on technical credibility with modern cloud data platforms, ideally including Azure, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, or similar data pipeline and Lakehouse technologies.
* Experience with ERP systems and enterprise application integrations.
* Experience operating within a regulated or highly structured enterprise environment, with strong data governance and security practices.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business priorities into technical delivery plans.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer-sponsored visa support, now or in the future.
BONUS SKILLS / OPPORTUNITY TO GROW
* Familiarity with GitHub and DevOps practices for engineering team standards.
* Experience mentoring engineers earlier in their data or pipeline engineering careers.
* Interest in shaping enterprise data platform strategy as the team and its tooling continue to mature.
