Accounts Payable Specialist
Pay: $20–$23/hour (based on experience)
Location: Buffalo, NY area

Our client, a well-established, multi-entity organization, is looking to add a reliable Accounts Payable professional to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys structure, accuracy, and being part of a collaborative accounting group.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll support day-to-day AP operations across multiple companies under one corporate umbrella. Your work will be key in keeping payments accurate, timely, and compliant.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing, coding, and entering invoices with proper approvals
- Matching and processing freight invoices
- Verifying invoice taxability and researching discrepancies
- Preparing weekly check runs and ACH payments
- Maintaining organized and accurate AP files
- Reconciling vendor statements and responding to vendor inquiries
- Tracking capital expenditures
- Supporting month-end close activities
- Assisting with annual 1099 preparation
- Cross-training with other AP team members
- Helping with special projects as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or a high school diploma with 1–3 years of Accounts Payable experience
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfort handling sensitive financial information with discretion and integrity
- Solid communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Professional, courteous approach when working with vendors and internal teams
- Dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented mindset
