This is a great opportunity to join an enterprise IT Department as their first dedicated Project Manager focused on the continuous delivery of customer value.  You will play a key role in building out Project Management best practices as they continue their Agile transformation and begin to build out their Value Management Office.  

About the Job

In this role, you will be primarily responsible for helping to build out a Project Management framework in a hybrid Waterfall / Agile environment. Additional responsibilities include:  

  • Develop the methodology of how projects will be executed and establish a common culture of execution by utilizing best practices, templates, tools, and repeatable processes to create an efficient and high functioning VMO
  • Work on high priority complex projects
  • Interact with key stakeholders; Product Owners, Development Team members, etc.
  • Establish a well-defined project management process
  • Ongoing process improvement initiatives – including identifying, implementing standards and procedures to ensure a quality end product
  • Implement best practices for Agile Project Management
  • Work creatively, analytically, and collaboratively with Product Owners, Development
  • Deliver successful projects in a timely and cost-efficient manner
  • Present project status, budget, issues, and risks to leadership level personnel through formal presentations
  • Provide project management expertise and guidance in a Waterfall, Agile (Scrum and Kanban), and hybrid environment as well as provide coaching and mentoring to other staff mentors
  • Serve as a liaison with project sponsors, internal customers, vendors, and business partners including facilitating communication using various methods and managing expectations with stakeholders


Requirements

  • Passion for building out project management solutions and best practices.
  • 7+ years of experience managing medium to large, complex projects ($1M and greater) 
  • Experience working within an Agile Project Delivery environment with a strong interest in Agile methodology.  (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, Hybrid) and SDLC
  • Background working with projects involving infrastructure, information security, web, portal and coding 
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across, and down multiple business and technology groups
  • Agile Certifications or training a plus
  • Knowledge and experience using Jira/Confluence, ServiceNow, SAP, and PeopleSoft preferred
