We are seeking an impressive accounting professional with strong attention to detail, a flexible attitude, and willingness to work with our growing accounting team on fixed asset management, monthly general ledger close, balance sheet account reconciliations, journal entries, and audit support. As Delaware North continues to grow, this individual will assist the accounting team with multiple initiatives including general ledger close optimization and the streamlining of end-to-end fixed asset processes This role reports to Manager, Accounting.

Responsibilities:

         Provide Fixed Asset support across our growing business, including reporting, controls, reconciliations, and feedback for site finance teams

  • Develop and document fixed asset business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Investigate variances and reporting discrepancies and communicate issues as they arise in a timely manner
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed assets and related depreciation accounts
  • Ensure timely processing of asset capitalizations, transfers, retirements, and adjustments
  • Process depreciation and ensure depreciation does not extend beyond venue contract life or useful life, as applicable
  • Perform asset account reconciliations including AM to GL, CWIP and Custom contract end date table to PeopleSoft Real Estate Management (REM)
  • Maintain PeopleSoft Asset Management subsystem by working with Financial Systems team and external system consultants

         Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures

  • Oversee/review monthly journal entry postings and prepare reconciliation reports for the monthly close, following up on questions and information requests after review
  • Coordinate with and review work prepared by an overseas third party provider
  • Carry out complex day to day financial tasks, including analyzing, verifying, classifying, and posting general ledger transactions
  • Prepare financial reports and requested documents for ad-hoc requests, in support of the company’s internal & external audits
  • Coach and mentor staff level accountants
  • Support for ad-hoc finance team projects, as appropriate

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance
  • 3 – 5 combined fixed asset & general accounting experience; large multi-national company and/or hospitality industry experience a plus
  • CPA/CA, highly desirable
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and the monthly close process
  • Proficiency in MS Office and general ERP experience
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability to operate with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
