About the Company

Our client is a global industry leader in the planning phases of a new Global IT Asset Management Program.   This Consultant will represent North American Operation interests and will work with Global counterparts to define requirements, processes and best practices as they work to identify the appropriate IT Asset Management tool. 

      Ideal Start Date:   March timeframe

Term of Assignment:  6 months (possibility for extension. 

                  Location:  REMOTE or Hybrid in Buffalo, NY

                       Hours:  Part-Time (~24 hours/week EST)

*Preference for candidates working in EST as meetings are often scheduled between 7:00 & 8:00 AM EST.  While days/hours can be flexible due to the part time nature of his role, early AM availability is mandatory.

About the Job

We are looking for an individual with prior leadership of the  IT Asset Management function in a large organization who can recommend best practices with regard to process and tools.  Will play a key role during team meetings that will include leadership level counterparts across the global IT / Infrastructure operation.   This could be a great foot in the door as our client hopes to approve a full time hire for this job in Q4.

  • Provide thought leadership when communicating with global stakeholders to ensure the new IT Asset Management tool will meet the needs of the North American operation
  • Through extensive stakeholder collaboration, will document configurable items (CIs) to determine what assets need to be tracked and how to best track them.
  • Assist with process to extract data from existing asset management system and work with DBA team on data imports to new system
  • Create data feeds for automation of data imports
  • Contribute in other ITSM processes as needed
  • While IT Asset Management tool implementation experience is helpful, knowledge of best practices when it comes to process  is more important.   This role does not perform IT Asset Management tool administration.

Requirements

  • IT Asset Management experience in a multi-site, IT service-oriented organization
  • Experience and familiarity with asset management and asset discovery tools ideally from both from a technical (implementation) and end-user perspective
  • Service Management knowledge
  • Security and compliance competencies
  • Excellent communication skills and organized
  • Knowledge of  IVANTI software or other IT Asset Management tools
