The Financial Systems Analyst works with an accounting system or financial software package to
evaluate data, typically for banks or mutual funds companies. The Financial Systems Analyst performs
job duties that include developing accounting reports, editing business data, updating, and maintaining
systems, and troubleshooting system issues. Other duties will comprise importing and exporting data
files from the system, assisting in ERP system upgrades and implementations, and liaising with IT to
support other business functions.

Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for the improvement and operation of financial systems connected to the
collection, retrieval, accessibility, and usage of financial data to facilitate department planning
and activities
• Assist the Operations unit in the development and use of financial system applications
• Utilize automated systems in the analysis of financial problems
• Conduct assessment on software and hardware needs and design new or modified systems to
meet changing demands
• Responsible for the maintenance of internal database files and tables and develop custom
reports to meet the requirements of finance management and staff
• Configure system settings and options, as well as create specifications for systems to meet
financial requirements
• Provide expert knowledge to users of automated financial systems, including documentation of
user manuals and assistance in training of employees
• Provide support in the development, implementation, and optimization of business application
• Provide leadership to cross-functional linked teams in addressing financial or systems issues.

Required Skills and Abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staff.
• Accounting/GAAP knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Experience in database management
• Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills in interacting with management, peers, and direct reports and
proficient presentation skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics AX and IBM Cognos is a plus
• Previous experience in production or manufacturing industry preferred

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field is required.
• Advanced degree and/or certifications preferred (MBA, CFP, FRM, CMA)
• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in preparing and maintaining financial models, budgets,
reporting, consolidation, and financial analysis.
