QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors required, Masters preferred in Accounting; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years’ applicable experience in Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role
  • Medical or Public Accounting Experience a plus
  • Accounting experience in a non-profit organization preferred
  • Proficiency in accounting and bookkeeping, use of accounting software (preferably Acumatica), and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Experience in Financial management and regulations for Federally Qualified Healthcare Centers (FQHRC) preferred
  • Experience processing and analyzing medical revenue and working knowledge of HRSA (Health Resources and Services Administration) grants preferred.
  • Knowledge of professional fee billing, reimbursement and third-party payer regulation and medical terminology is required

Essential Job Duties

  • Monitor the internal controls of the Organization to help ensure the safeguarding of assets
  • Monitor relevant regulatory requirements to help achieve governmental compliance
  • Monitor the organization’s cash flow and costs while working to optimize all revenue sources
  • Work closely with consulting accountants on operational oversight, annual cost reports and compliance audits.
  • Oversee Financial aspects of global programming and operations
  • Oversee cost management related to capital projects
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Organization’s operations and programming activities to assist in the Organization’s strategic initiatives. This ensures that decisions are made based on solid financial data.
  • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
  • Utilize technology to streamline Finance operations ensuring financial information is provided to the Organization’s leaders in a timely, accurate, efficient and valuable manner.
  • Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets (Annual Agency, Grant, and Project) with attention to detail and under given deadlines
  • Perform necessary tasks related to governmental and private Grants Management
  • Oversee preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial reports to Board of Directors
  • Attend trainings and certifications to remain current in best nonprofit financial practices
  • Oversee and manage appropriate financial controls to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse
  • Maintaining routine contact with department Directors related to budget, income, and expenses
  • Maintain and manage records and record retention and storage in compliance with IRS (Internal Revenue Service) regulations, Labor Laws, and insurance
  • Assist in the analysis of competitive bids with input to COO regarding vendor selection for services and products
  • Maintaining vendor contract records and reviewing contracts for contractual obligations
