About the Job:
This role will support and act as the “right hand” to a team of financial advisors. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and process-driven individual who can assist the advisors in various aspects of service support, relationship management, and investment research. Responsibilities:
- Assist in the gathering and organizing of client data necessary to develop a financial plan (client financial statements, tax returns, estate planning documents)
- Review client data files for completeness and accuracy
- Utilize various financial analysis programs (MoneyGuide Pro) to produce requested results sought by the financial advisor(s), including review of output for completeness and accuracy
- Prepare and/or update client balance sheets accurately and efficiently
- Assist with investment and trading issues (such as basis updates, transfers, cash flows, etc.) as needed
- Conduct special and routine investment/portfolio or planning research projects, as requested by advisors and technical specialists
- Provide support to advisors on research for tasks, clients, and other areas as required
- Coordinate quarterly investment management performance reports, including reconciliation and accurate security pricing
- Provide management with updates and reports on the status of client investment activities
- Attend client meetings in a technical, supporting, and learning role; provide client relationship assistance as needed
- Maintain CRM database; enter notes based on client interaction and future outreach
- Perform other duties as ‘back up’ to team members
- Organize and maintain the team’s investment management system:
- Conduct investment research
- Maintain and update model portfolio spreadsheets
- Maintain and update Enhanced Trading system
- Create and maintain mutual fund/ETF database
- Compile minutes from quarterly investment meetings
- Obtain relevant industry qualifications (Series 7, 66, CFP Certification)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree. Finance or finance-related field preferred, but not required
- Obtain industry licenses (Series 7 and 66) within 6 months of hire
- Work towards CFP Certification over time
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to anticipate needs and act to fulfill them
- Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Self-driven, with the ability to work efficiently with some autonomy
- A strong commitment to customer satisfaction: must have the ability to empathize with client concerns, respond reassuringly, and take action toward resolution
- Ability to prioritize tasks and create structure in the face of competing demands
- Able to work both independently and closely within a small team
