Job Summary

The Accounting Manager will oversee applicable transactions cycles including AP, AR, Cash/Treasury, Debt service, Fixed assets and Sales tax.  This role will support the controller on various accounting functions including month end closing, financial reporting, internal control compliance and other ad hoc projects.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Collaborate with finance management in the monthly, quarterly, and year end close cycles.
  • Train, mentor and supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable operation and related staffing.
  • Manage the treasury function for the domestic subsidiaries, compiling cash forecasting requirements. Administer all components of corporate operating cash flow. 
  • Maintain timely balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly deliverables including financial reports and preparation of supporting schedules.
  • Explain period operating results to leadership.
  • Coordinate year end audit, JSOX control testing and other audit/consulting arrangements.
  • Ensure ongoing sales tax compliance connected to business growth.
  • Assess and test operating effectiveness of internal controls for compliance.
  • Challenge existing processes and streamline/develop new ones to promote efficiencies and provide additional value-add for the finance group.
  • Support other department information requests as needed.

 

Requirements

  • B.S. in Accounting required, CPA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ financial reporting experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience managing accounting staff
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of US GAAP as it relates to manufacturing, multi-national experience a plus
  • Proven ability to organize and manage multiple tasks
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams (vertically and horizontally) within the organization
  • Adaptability to be able to work with a wide range of personalities, backgrounds, and experience levels
  • Ability and willingness to adapt quickly to changes in business conditions (e.g. acquisitions, mergers, divestitures)
  • Very knowledgeable in MS Office and MS Excel; Knowledge in Tableau or BI system a plus
